Looking for micro remote control switches

Postby manuel.stg » Mon Feb 02, 2015 4:49 pm

Hi,
I have an embedded system that runs on solar energy and I would like to switch-off, switch-on part of the systems to avoid leakage currents (some controlers have as much as 1.5mA of leakage currents). I am looking for a micro remote control switch that would needs power only to commute. An other constraint is that the switch could be controlled with at most 3.3V.
The reed relays I have found so far need power either in the off state or in the on state which is then useless for my application.
Maybe such component does not exist but it seems quite an interesting and common use case, so I am willing to ask the forum for any insights.

Thanks.

Hi Manuel,

Have you considered using a solid state switch (e.g. http://www.nxp.com/documents/data_sheet ... CT4066.pdf)?
