Sceptre/InterSceptre OpenOCD config file missing?

The topic on number crunching

Postby immernocharm » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:00 am

While trying to set up GDB/OpenOCD, there are two config files required, "elektor_sceptre.cfg" (which is available here) which then calls "target/lpc2148_12MHz.cfg". Does anyone know where this file is, or how it differs from "target/lpc2148.cfg" which comes with OpenOCD 0.5.0, and which appears to work?'

Hello ImmerNochARM,

The missing file is attached to this post. The file is almost identical to the default OpenOCD lpc2148.cfg file, except for the last line where the board's clock frequency is specified:

flash bank $_FLASHNAME lpc2000 0x0 0x7d000 0 0 $_TARGETNAME lpc2000_v2 12000 calc_checksum

The value 12000 is the clock frequency for the Sceptre (is 14765 in the default file).

Regards,
Clemens

Many thanks, I now have this working. The latest version 0.5.0 of OpenOCD (for which I could obtain a Windows binary) appears to have much updated and reorganised board/target scripts and it now defaults to 12MHz, so really only "board\elektor_sceptre.cfg" is required with one line, "source [find target/lpc2148.cfg]".

The latest YAGARTO includes GDB 7.3.1 and I've managed somehow to get it all to play together with the Olimex ARM-USB-OCD-H and Eclipse Indigo SR1, so yes, a very fine development system indeed!
