What component to use to keep multiple pins high?

Postby EvanderL » Wed Sep 30, 2015 3:50 pm

Hello All,

I'm trying to build a 8xrelay board using a PIC and rs232 control from the PC. The relays are driven by the PIC and a 74HC238H decoder. Now I also want to show which relays have been previously activated by using LED's. So I need something similar to the 238N only want to keep multiple pins high at one time. Is there an IC for this? or is a different approach better? I want to use as little pins possible from the PIC.

Thanks and regards,
Evander

Maybe its a 74HC137 you are looking for, its a very similar component to the 138 but the outputs have inverted logic states.
