colinbus contact

Postby sinapse » Thu Feb 12, 2015 11:03 am

I bought a PCB-Board Millingmachine from colinbus via this site (namely the PCB Box). Tried to contact colinbus via email and phone. no answer. the phone number seems to be not working anymore (getting a recorded voicemessage in a (for me) unkown language, sounds more lika a message from the phone company saying that the number is not in use).

did colinbus go bankrupt? anyone knows something about it? didnt know where else to place this question

thx

Re: colinbus contact - Administration

Postby royleith » Mon Mar 23, 2015 12:13 pm

It appears that Franklin Industries went into administration in October, 2014 and had until mid-December to come up with a recovery plan.

http://www.faillissementsdossier.be/nl/ ... tries.aspx

Unfortunately, there has been no further information and it seems that the bankruptcy is complete and no-one has bought the Colinbus part as a going concern. The home site is still operational. I suggest you download all the relevant files while you still can. Also, make sure that you have the computer in which Coliliner is installed backed up with a partition image program like Macrium Reflect or Ghost as there is no way to get the program re-authorised.

You can install the latest version of Colidrive, but it may not work correctly with your Colinbus.dat file. Although they are standard Microsoft Jet database files, Colinbus have protected them with a password that I have not been able to guess or crack with a hex editor.

If Colidrive messes with the machine settings, I have written a program that collects the current settings, compares that with the documented default for the Profiler (I expect your machine to use the same settings) and lets you edit the settings if they are wrong. That has got me out of trouble a number of times.

In addition, I have found a Linux program that will produce track outlines from Gerber files in G-Code. It should be possible to translate that into the limited Colinbus G-Code sub-set (although, Colinbus' version does not conform to the industry standards for Z-Axis movement). However, if you back up your computer as described, above, you should not need to experiment.

Colinbus Profiler Software

Postby royleith » Mon Jul 06, 2015 3:19 pm

The target 3001! software from this site'

http://ibfriedrich.com/index.htm

seems to work well with the Colinbus profiler and the Colidrive software. I have also received an email about the following site that provides both software and support.

I asked Mipec about a new activation code for Coliliner because I changed from XP to W7 and Coliliner wants a new Activation code
The answer was "So sorry but you will have to buy our software"
I am convinced they do have the tool to generate these codes but prefer not to use it so they can sell their software product to old Colinbus customers.

Well, I do not like to be force into buying anything so I will not buy their software but will look for other solutions.
I am using Eagle now and I saw an ULP that can produce output to work with Colinbus CNC. (as long as you use Colidrive and Colidrive works without activation codes.)
So that might be a solution.

I know what you have to put in registry to activate software.
Admin deleted my previous post so I have to tell that this is not any kind od hacking or cracking of original software. It stays untouched.

I've got pasword for Colinbus .dat files (MS jet dbf files) from one of Colimbus employee.

Hi,

password for .dat files is COLt657916 and password for machine settings in Colidrive (Setup->Machine Properties->System->Access level logon) is Oscar.

Hi,

Coliliner and Colicam registration is just a matter of few key settings in Windows registry file.

This solution is for ColiLiner basic only and for Colicam.
After ColiLiner and ColiCAM instalation check if you got two keys in Windows Registy named ARKAY and ARKAY1 (HKLM\Software\ARKAY and HKLM\Software\ARKAY1). In case that you are using Win7 64bit than this Keys are HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY and HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY1.
If you didn't get those keys in Registry open Coliliner (Colicam)->Help->Licensing and put in whatever you want and close the software.
Open text editor (Notepad) and copy/paste following text in it:
Code: Select all
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY\DADRAN]
"KRAKTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:2384"
"SWANTEWID"="CGA"
"GRÖTTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:100925439"
"PRÄSTBODATJÄRN"="Your Name"

and save it as ARKAY(32bit).reg.
Do the same with:
Code: Select all
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY1]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY1\ENVIKEN]
"BRANDBERGET"="265110:1996:3016:2721:302"
"SWANTEWID"="VGA"
"ÖSTANMYR"="265110:1996:3016:2721:262143"
"SVANSJÖN"="Your Name"

and save it as ARKAY1(32bit).reg.

For 64bit Win 7 :
Code: Select all
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY\DADRAN]
"KRAKTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:2384"
"SWANTEWID"="CGA"
"GRÖTTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:100925439"
"PRÄSTBODATJÄRN"="Your Name"

and save it as ARKAY(64bit).reg.
Do the same with:
Code: Select all
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY1]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY1\ENVIKEN]
"BRANDBERGET"="265110:1996:3016:2721:302"
"SWANTEWID"="VGA"
"ÖSTANMYR"="265110:1996:3016:2721:262143"
"SVANSJÖN"="Your Name"

and save it as ARKAY1(64bit).reg

Now you have registry files for 32 bit and for 64bit Windows for CliLiner and ColiCam. Just click on it and values from files will be merged into registry.
Almost forgot, you can put instead of "Your Name" your name in it or whatever you want.

Jaka

Hi,

Key names in registry for Colinbus software depends of Windows language settings as you can see from this post on Nederland forum.

So, just install Colinbus software, go to licencing and put what ever you want in empty fields, then close the software. This is because sofware have to generate VolId of hard drive (keys VIKLUNDTJÄRN and SKALLBERGET).
Yes licencing depends of VolID of hard drive, but not for my numbers :) .
Open regedit just find those keys (ARKAY, ARKAY1) using Search function and copy/paste the numbers from my post above.

Hi,
This is an addition to the last contribution but one of jaka57 which contains 2 minor spelling-mistakes which might cause ColiLiner not being receptive to the wished for license activation.

Change in the ARKAY registry keys DADRAN into DÅDRAN and KRAKTJÄRN into KRÅKTJÄRN. That is all.

Below are the corrected registry keys to be used to get ColiLiner working under license.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ARKAY\DÅDRAN]
"KRÅKTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:2384"
"SWANTEWID"="CGA"
"GRÖTTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:100925439"
"PRÄSTBODATJÄRN"="Your Name"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

and save it as ARKAY(32bit).reg.

For 64bit Win 7 :

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ARKAY\DÅDRAN]
"KRÅKTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:2384"
"SWANTEWID"="CGA"
"GRÖTTJÄRN"="100928429:2019:3553:1580:100925439"
"PRÄSTBODATJÄRN"="Your Name"

-------------------------------------------------------------------

and save it as ARKAY(64bit).reg.
